The SPCA Serving Erie County has been named the recipient of Compu-Mail’s $5,000 donation through their Charity Connection program. The enthusiasm and passion demonstrated through the voting process led Compu-Mail to give donations to the other finalists as well. $1,500 will go Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, for receiving the second highest number of votes. The three remaining finalists, Buffalo City Mission, Mercy Flight of Western New York, and American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy, will also receive monetary donations.
“Our community supports us in so many endeavors, and Compu-Mail’s contest was no exception,” says SPCA Director of Development Jennifer Garver. “We were honored to be selected as one of Compu-Mail’s finalists and to witness first-hand its backing of non-profits. Because of Compu-Mail and our dedicated voters, a much-needed $5,000 will be added to the SPCA’s Yelp For Help Fund!”
More than 200 clients and friends of Compu-Mail nominated their favorite charities to be included in the 2012 Charity Connection Finale. Compu-Mail then chose the five finalists from the many deserving submissions. At the close of online voting, more than 83,000 votes had been cast over a month-long period.
Compu-Mail, a direct marketing and printing company based in Grand Island, was astounded by the response to the program. President Michael Vitch reflected, “Charity Connection has been for us an exciting, and even inspiring approach to involving clients in our corporate philanthropy.”
