SPCA Serving Erie County
The mission of the SPCA is to create a caring and kind community that encourages fair and humane treatment of all creatures. Our knowledgeable, caring, and open-minded team of staff and volunteers achieves that mission through proactive efforts to address the current status of animals in our community, education of adults and children, rescue and sheltering of animals in need, and placement of animals into appropriate homes.

I love the Ronald McDonald House. Back in 2005 my grandson was born at strong and we new through the whole pregnancy that he would be born there and have surgery when he was 24 hrs olds. The hospital and staff was great and sent my daughter and son in law to the Ronald McDonald House and they loved it there. The staff and people were so freindly and it made it so convient for my children to be close to my grandson during his time at the hospital.
Years ago my family needed Ronald McDonald House. It was in another city far from home, but the staff and volunteers made the entire time we were there like we were family. I do and will continue to support RMH.
Childhood illness matters..I voted for Ronald McDonald House in Rochester!
Ronald McDonald House!!!!!!! Rochester Rocks
Good luck everyone! Remember they’re all great organizations and they all deserve to win!!!!!
Great to see the Ronald McDonald house on here — they provide such an important service to both the kids and the parents!
Go McDonald’s
When Maciej and Teagan were born and kept in the NICU @ Strong Hospital for 1 month, the Ronald McDonald House hosted us the entire time, allowing us to be there to care for them (and for me to nurse them) and be with them during a critical and difficult time. We wouldn’t have been able to do any if that without the RMH. The Rochester RMH helps not only local families, but families from literally EVERYWHERE; while we were there, there was a family from the Thousand Islands, 1 from Albany and another from Pennsylvania…and these were just a few people we had the pleasure to meet. This RMH is also very rare in that it has a “house within the hospital” AND the “big house” and couple of blocks from Strong. Another bit of perspective: in those instances where a child is critically/gravely ill or dying, the opportunity to stay @ the RMH allows families to spend that precious time with their child…time that they otherwise would not have had.
We will never be able to repay the RMH @ Rochester for what they’ve done for our family. We will forever be grateful for the amazing staff and volunteers and it will always feel like a home away from home…it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Yay Ronald Mcd house
Me and my daughter love the Ronold Mcdanolds House!!
The SPCA is the most deserving of all charities. It’s important to help those who can’t help themselves.
We should all be voting for Ronald McDonald House: This helps people in a very straight-forward way. Help to people that need it most.
Ronald mcdonald house!
My opinion is we need to take care of our localorganizations. Hurricane sandy has so many different people donating and volunteering to help, but our local children and families need us to. So i had to go with ronald mcdonald house. And i really hope they are awarded the grant.
I want to say thank you
Ronald McDonald House has been there for many of my friends!
Kids before pets, sorry animals. People first.
Sorry i had to go with Hurricane Sandy… had family in NJ that was effected by it.. may not be back in there home till end of year… 18 inches of water…
All great charities but Mercy Flight actually saves lives. My vote is for Mercy Flight.
Good Luck! One vote closer!
This was the hardest choice i have ever had in a vote.
Thank you so much for being there in our time of need. We wouldn’t have made it through without all of you help.
Ronald McDonald House save us. What an amazing place. Thanks so much for being there for us. You made our trip to the hospital so much easier. We didn’t have to worry about anything but our daughter’s surgery.
